Beats, Rhymes, & Fundraising: An Old School Hip-Hop Party
On Friday, August 1, 2025, Share Inform Enlighten hosted Beats, Rhymes & Fundraising – An Old-School Hip-Hop Party at The Bisou Experience in Farmingdale, NY. The night was filled with legendary energy, featuring a live performance by hip-hop icon Chubb Rock and classic beats spun by The Legendary DJ Belal. Guests danced, connected, and celebrated the powerful legacy of hip-hop—all in support of our Poetry Slam Scholarships for young poets.
Another highlight of the evening was the premiere of the trailer for the upcoming documentary, Long Island Underground Legends of Hip Hop, by Archie Snowden. Following the screening, guests were treated to a powerful and thought-provoking historical panel discussion with several of the influential figures featured in the film. The conversation shed light on Long Island’s often overlooked but deeply impactful contributions to the culture and history of hip-hop. Share Inform Enlighten is proud to be the sponsor of The Long Island Underground Legends of Hip Hop Trailer experience.
Attendees also enjoyed delicious food by Chara's Kitchen and Catering, which added to the vibrant, communal atmosphere of the evening. The mix of great food, nostalgic beats, and meaningful dialogue created an unforgettable experience that honored the past while supporting the future of creative expression.
